Another major film star is heading to Broadway: Two-time Academy Award winner Denzel Washington will play Troy Maxson in a revival of August Wilson’s “Fences” in late spring of 2010, according to an executive involved with the production.

Fences is set in the 1950s, it is the sixth in Wilson's ten-part Pittsburgh Cycle. Like all of the Pittsburgh plays, Fences explores the evolving African-American experience and examines race relations, among other themes.
