This celebration of African-American life, leadership and culture features a special screening of the critically acclaimed PBS documentary and a panel discussion on the legacy and lessons of the Civil Rights Movement moderated by David Brancaccio (host of NOW on PBS). The documentary LEGACY: Black and White in America presents two parallel stories – the story of African-American life today and the story of the Civil Rights generation - to clarify the successes and failures of racial integration in American and what they reveal about our democracy and national character. More details on the documentary at www.legacyblackandwhiteinamerica.com.
The evening is presented by the National Council of Negro Women, the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and the Apollo Theater Foundation.
