Darko Tresnjak Directs "Antony and Cleopatra"
Shakespeare's unforgettable study of mature lovers who sacrifice all for love is also a study in two cultures: the formality of Rome pitted against the sensuality of Egypt. Shot through with rich language and charged with a Chekhovian sense of regret, this is one of the crown jewels of the world's dramatic poetry.

Darko Tresnjak (Columbia School of the Arts '98), the director of Shakespeare's Antony and Cleopatra, is the Artistic Director of the Old Globe Shakespeare Festival. For Theatre for a New Audience, Mr. Tresnjak staged All's Well that Ends Well (2006) and The Merchant of Venice (2007) with F. Murray Abraham.

Betrayed
In early 2007, George Packer published an article in The New Yorker about Iraqi interpreters who jeopardized their lives on behalf of the Americans in Iraq, with little or no U.S. protection or security. The article drew national attention to the humanitarian crisis and moral scandal. Betrayed, based on Mr. Packer's interviews in Baghdad, tells the story of three young Iraqis - two men and one woman - motivated to risk everything by America's promise of freedom. Betrayed explores the complex relationships among the Iraqis themselves, and with their American supervisor, struggling to find purpose while a country collapses around them.

August: Osage County
From its sold-out Chicago run, the Steppenwolf co. creates another masterpiece. A vanished father. A pill-popping mother. Three sisters harboring shady little secrets. When the large Weston family unexpectedly reunites after dad disappears, their Oklahoman family homestead explodes in a maelstrom of repressed truths and unsettling secrets. Mix in Violet, the drugged-up, scathingly acidic matriarch, and you’ve got a major new Broadway play that unflinchingly – and uproariously – exposes the dark side of the Midwestern American family.

Gypsy
Gypsy is a consummate show-biz musical suggested by the memoirs of stripper Gypsy Rose Lee. She was once just plain Louise, the awkward daughter of an unstoppably ambitious stage mother, but when her pretty sister runs away from the family's minor vaudeville act, Louise tries to fulfill her mother's dreams. Featuring Broadway veteran Patti LuPone.
